Botnet worm in DOS attacks could wipe data out on infected PCs | Security – CNET News The denial-of-service attacks against Web sites in the U.S. and South Korea that started last weekend may have stopped for now, but code on the infected bots was set to wipe data on Friday, security experts said. There were no immediate reports of any of the compromised PCs in the botnet having files deleted, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t happening or won’t in the future, said Gerry Egan, a product manager in Symantec’s Security Technology Response group. There are only about 50,000 infected PCs around the world being used in the attacks, which is relatively small compared to the millions that were infected with Conficker, he said. The attacks started over the July 4 weekend launching distributed DOS attacks on dozens of government and commercial sites in the U.S. and South Korea. The attacks, which resurged during the week at least twice, affected sites including the White House, the Federal Trade Commission, the Secret Service, and The Washington Post.

Been thinking about that a lot. About how hard I’ve worked since the mugging to “keep’ what I was prior to the brain injury. Came to a conclusion: forget it. It’s too much work for no reward. I’ve ‘kept it together’ for nigh unto ten (10) years and all I have to show for it is a job that just pays my expenses and nothing more. Pehaps, if I had support from people in my situation, and not just rehashing the events of May 1, 1999, or how they received their TBI, maybe, just maybe, it would be different. As it stands… In the course of my recovery, support was the one thing I lacked. My then BF couldn’t be bothered to ask or to gowith me. He just kept on like nothing had changed for him. Selfish Bastard that he is. So, thanks, Joshua for not a single fucking thing. ‘Keeping it together’ I’m tired of trying to be what I no longer am. Exhausted, actually. Stay tuned

I called the Brain Injury Assoc.of NJ two days ago. I think I”m not brain injured ‘enough’ for them, despite what I was told. No referral list has hit my email box. So, I stay stuck. can’t get out of a hole when no one will throw you a lifeline. So, today, I took the step of stopping the ‘happy face’ shit. I take no meds, so no withdrawl. I simply don’t desire to suppress the so-called ‘bad’ feelings that I call “Melancholy”, and my mom called it “unhealthy brooding”. Got news for you: being happy all the time is impossible if you’re not on drugs. Fuck that. I prefer having real emotions over pharmaceutically induced one.
