On your “own dime”? Really?

As most of my readers know, I have been more or less following the Adventures of Orly Taitz in Citizenshipland for a while. I’ve lurked her “blog” and today, I read something on her Senatorial campaign Facebook page that knocked me for a loop.
Here’s the screencap:

Yes, she really does say that SHE paid her own way in her “Quijotic” Quest to unseat the President. Yet a simple search on “orly taitz frequent flyer” (sans quotes) turns up a number of postings where she is thanking various “supporters” for their donations of miles, and posts where she’s asking for both frequent flyer AND hotel points.

On her own dime? I think not.
From her own blogsite:

If you can donate frequent flyer miles or can help with a stand by ticket, call me at 949-683-5411

Here she is asking for donations of Miles and Points. and, yet, it’s all on her “own dime”.

over a thousand people visit my web site every hour

Now I have a visit counter on my web site. Over a 1,000 people visit this website every hour. I need to raise $3,150 more to register on the ballot as a candidate for the U.S. Senate. If readers donate even a small amount, such as $5 or $3, it will help to raise this amount quickly.

Yesterday I flew to AZ to present the case for Social Security fraud committed by Obma to Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Between airfare, car rental, gasoline, copying of documents and so on, it was some $700 in one day. When more readers of this site donate small amounts, it helps to cover those fees and hopefully save some funds for future battles. I often get phone calls, letters and e-mails, where people are telling me that they are behind me and are praying for me, which is nice, but nice words and prayers do not pay for the airfare, car rental, court fees and so on.

Your donations and support is appreciated!

PS. Frequent flyer miles, hotel miles help. I, also, need tech support and clerical support from someone, who can actually come to my office and help at location. Remote control help does not work well. If you have experience with campaigns, let me know

Yes, this goes on and on. Asking her very aptly named ‘Supporters” to donate, donate, donate. She’s getting free labor from them as well, as the above posting shows. She’s not a fan of telecommuting, as she can’t watch them.

So, Orly, what would the FEC think of these donations? Did you file? And, before you decide to scrub those entries, I have them archived as PDFs in the cloud. Nothing is ever gone from the Internet.

and, then THIS gem:

The negative aspect, is the fact, that this will be the fifth time I will be flying to HI to a hearing. It is depleting all the donations. I hate to ask, but donations and frequent flier miles will come very handy. This is a very tough fight. You know the resources, that might opponent has, but with your help we are moving along. Thank you for your support .
If you can, please be generous with your donation to help underwrite the expense of airfare, lodging, meals for Dr. Taitz and witnesses as she flies from her home in California to court hearings in Hawaii and Georgia. She’s at the tip of the sword on our behalf.
“Reminder! I need to fly a number of witnesses to trial in GA on the 26th. frequent flier miles and donations are badly needed.
“If you love your country, please help me fight this creeping tyranny and corruption. Donations no matter how small will help pay for airline and travel expenses.”

I have not changed a thing. This is grifting. Not one supporter asks her for an accounting, not one asks for the “witness” list – witnesses that never materialized, I believe.
I’m not muckracking. I’m just reporting on what I consider to be hanky-panky with people’s trust. Especially in light that no one really knows squat about her.

The Tale of Kochheaded Dave

Poor little Davey Koch. Someone punked his Governor, and now he’s crying about “Identity Theft”

Yes, children, gather round and hear a tale of Poor Kochheaded Dave.
Dave was so wealthy, even he was impressed by it, and thought he was Master of the World. One day, while Kochheaded Dave was petting his second favorite pet, it was an oddly adorable, yet vicious little beast called a “teaparty”, his first, another vicious, yet unadorable beast called a “Walker” was being tutored in the art of deception.

A man, an alien being known as a “Journalist”, picked up his telephone, and made a call to the pet, Walker, and knowing he wouldn’t get to talk to the Walker if he revealed himself, pretended to be Kochheaded Dave. Hilarity ensued as the Walker rolled over and exposed his throat to the Pretender as the Pretender played his unpaid role. The Pretender, when he had had his fill, ended the call, and revealed himself to the World. Now, this revelation caused the Walker great anguish at having been revealed to be the pet of Kochheaded Dave, and Dave. Well, Kochheaded Dave was outraged at the humiliation of his pet Walker, and the admission that he, Kochheaded Dave owned such a pet.

Thinking about what recourse he had, Kochheaded Dave went to the press and declared:

“It’s a case of identity theft,” Koch told the New York Times in a rare interview Friday. “I didn’t even know his name before this brouhaha erupted.”

Poor Kochheaded Dave was beside himself (his favorite sexual position) and “joked”:

“I was thinking to myself, ‘My God, if I called up a senator or a congressman to discuss something with them, and they heard ‘David Koch is on the line,’ they’d immediately say, ‘That’s that fraud again — tell him to get lost!'” he said.

And, you know, that Senator would be quite correct in that assessment.

Teabagger’s DMCA Takedown of Marvel Comics

over the use of a slogan:

Quesada then went on to say that Marvel would “apologize for and own up to” a series of “stupid mistakes” that led to them “accidentally identifying” one of the members of the protest group “as being a part of the Tea Party instead of a generic protest group.” He explained that they were on deadline to get the issue to the printer for publication, and in the course of sending it off it was noticed that the signs in the scene contained no words or phrases. He said the editor then asked the letterer to “fudge in some quick signs” and that in the “rush to get the book out of the door,” the letterer “looked on the net and started pulling slogans” from signs captured in photographs at Tea Party protests in order to make them appear “believable.”

via Marvel Comics’ depiction of anti-tax protesters inspires anger, apology – Yahoo! News.

And, so, they issued a DMCA takedown notice by whining about  a fucking comic book using their own words. and it stung.

They had their itty-bitty corporate owned feelings hurt by FREAKING COMIC BOOK. They are sad that Cap ain’t “wit’ ’em”, but “agin ’em”

In response to Marvel’s explanation and apology, Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips told Yahoo! News that it “sounds less like a genuine ‘we’re sorry’ than it does a ‘we’re sorry we got caught’ statement.””When I was a child in the ’60s Captain America was my favorite superhero,” he said. “It’s really sad to see what has traditionally been a pro-America figure being used to advance a political agenda.”

See in Teabagger ZombieWorld, Capt. America would be fighting Obama and his insidious Muslin Agenda while converting all the unbaptized sinners and curing teh gay, while nuking Iran and North Korea into the Fiery Garbage Dump of Hell.

Dear Teabaggers, Americans turned to coffee as a protest against the British MONOPOLY  on the importation of tea.  Like today’s Corporations, the  East India Company, was able to cut out the middleman, the AMERICAN SMALL BUSINESSMAN, and import the tea directly to the Colonies. But, hey, you volks don’t care about American Small Business. You HATE Main St.

NewsDaily: Courts to rule on fan-created music videos

NewsDaily: Courts to rule on fan-created music videos.

So, here’s my take: It’s not the fans who are violating the DMCA, but the hosting sites, since they are the ones making money from our fan vids. I am with EMI on this:

EMI’s suit will likely revolve around two legal issues. First, are video-sharing sites — which organize, categorize and profit from user-uploaded copyrighted content — liable for copyright infringement? While the Digital Millennium Copyright Act includes “safe harbor” provisions for sites that promptly remove videos upon receipt of takedown notices from content owners, copyright owners claim that the DMCA, enacted years before video-sharing sites even existed, was never intended to protect sites that built businesses around rampant, unlicensed use of others’ intellectual property, especially when they encourage users to upload copyrighted content. (EMI also alleges that Vimeo itself uploaded videos containing its music, activity that isn’t covered by DMCA safe harbors.)

The suit however, does not cover the fanvids that are created, by say, fans of The Colbert Report, The Daily Show or even, the O’Reilly Factor (Disclaimer: I have made fanvids for all three shows. Hey, even O’Reilly needs…. uh… uhm….) But, since we the creators of these videos are not the ones profiting….
